Sebastiano Fabbrini is a postdoctoral fellow at the University Iuav of Venice, where he conducts the research project The Architecture of European Integration. He holds a PhD in architecture from the University of California Los Angeles, where he also worked as a teaching fellow in architectural history and theory. During this time, he collaborated with the Getty Research Institute and the Canadian Centre for Architecture. He previously studied at the University of Ferrara, the University of California Berkeley and TU Delft. He is the author of the book The State of Architecture: Aldo Rossi and the Tools of Internationalization (2020) and multiple other writings, including articles for Architectural Histories and Thresholds. Over the past several years, his research has been focusing on the relationship between architecture and power, addressing the rescaling of statehood in the post-war period and the process of European integration. Thanks to a DAAD scholarship, Sebastiano Fabbrini is a visiting fellow in the LOEWE research cluster Architectures of Order during the 2021 Fall quarter.
